Minutes of the monthly Board of Trustees
May 19th, 2007
Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m.

Minutes of April 2007 meeting were read and approved.

Financial Report:  We have approximately $85,000 in the checking with $43,000 in savings for water/road emergencies and a CD valued at a little over $17,000.  Accounts payable will include a major outlay to Shelley Excavation for the work they did during this past, excessively cold winter, repairing frozen water lines.  This could involve over $25,000 for all of the repairs + rebuilding the road through A section, which hasn’t had any significant attention for many years.

Business items:

  1. We need to find a way to encourage Shelley Excavating to be timelier in their invoicing.  Perhaps we should invite them to the next SSD meeting to review these difficulties.  Monte will extend a letter to them inviting them to the next meeting.
  2. Hot Well grading, if by Haynes, who authorized this.  The Legacy people may have done it.  This is not an area covered by the District and the SMR Board is in charge of keeping up that road as a fire exit.
  3. SMR is going to extend electric down Elderberry to K-8.  Shelley will dig that and grade and repair last year’s installation of electric.  Shelley will be digging around the west end of Davis Ridge to keep power going south from Marsden’s driveway.
  4. We need to repair Juniper right below the winter playground meadow.  SMR will see if we can move the lot line to help straighten out the serpentine nature of that short section or Juniper Drive.
  5. John Tidwell asked about widening Cedar Ridge Drive (the upper part) before the MgCl is applied.  The Board will go after this meeting and review this location.  One problem this close to application date is that we have found that the solution does not provide the best end result when applied over relatively new gravel.
  6. Thad’s Peak:  All of the defects are resolved in getting John Fosey of Div of Drinking Water to issue final approval.  Roger will call Sunderlind Elec. To find out why the relays aren’t allowing the pump to restart.  It will be fixed right away.
  7. Hansen Allen and Luce updates: The letter we plan to send to all members is in the hands of our and SMR’s attorneys for review and the SMR Board for final review.  Goal is to publish on or about 1 June 2007.
  8. Chipper needs some kind of repair.  It shuts down with the warning light showing when it is hot and has been running for a while.  It could be just a warning light sensor rather than actually overheating.  It needs to be re-equipped with safety gear … hardhat screens, earplugs, goggles etc before we turn it to Fairview Lakes.
  9. Monte was assigned to contact Cox Equipment to see if they feel they could take on local maintenance of the Chipper.

Meeting adjourned at 7:58 p.m.
